From anxiety to delight

Bible Verse of the Day

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.

Psalm 94:19

Sorry for the delay in writing about this verse, I have been researching on it the last few days.  I kept trying to find the Hebrew word for joy, but every lexicon resource kept changing the verse to read.

When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul. NASB

The Hebrew word used here for delight is sha’a’ which means:

sha'a': stare

Original Word: שָׁעַע
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: sha'a'
Phonetic Spelling: (shaw-ah')
Definition: to be smeared over, blinded

Think about that for a minute the delight that God brings you as He consoles you is a blinding delight fully covering you.  Wow!!

We just have to be willing to take those anxieties to Him and let Him love us through it.

It’s not easy, this life is full of things that give us opportunity for anxiousness and an enemy that whispers lies and half-truths trying to get us to go there because he knows the power of anxiety to our hearts

I don’t know what you have in your life that is pulling on you to be anxious, but I am certain something is there.

Will you take time to give it to God today and let Him console you?

I know I need to.

In the Father’s love, Sam
